 Dave Wallum

 I can now confirm that the service will be held at Coychurch Crematorium at 3pm on Thursday 10th Oct.  many thanks to Mike Kearn for that information.  Mike has also sent me the following letter:

 I regret to have to inform you that Dave Wallum died last week, on Tuesday October 1st, this was both sudden and unexpected.  As we all know Dave was a well liked and popular member of Bridgend Chess Club and had many friends throughout the Welsh chess fraternity.

If anybody would like to attend Dave's funeral the details are as follows-...

I don't think I published the final result although Tim Kett was kind enough to send it to me.  Here is a copy of his email:

I was on holiday last week but my team-mates didn't miss me (no change there then !) and stormed to victory in the East Glam Summer Cup Final vs Caerphilly, detailed results as follows:

1. Charles Cobb  1-0  Ioan Rees
2. John Trevelyan 1-0 John Thornton
3. Alan Spice 0-1 Jon Gilbert
4. Stuart Hutchings 1-0 Dave Perrett

Final Score:  Cardiff 3 - 1 Caerphilly

Revenge at last for our two defeats (in a record of Won 16 Drawn 0 Lost 2 !!) at the hands of these opponents in the league this year.

One Day Team Tournament.

I'm sure Jon Gilbert sent me an email about the Welsh one day team championship, Cardiff on Sat 19th October, but I can't find it.  Does anyone have details, or Jon, could you send me another copy.
