The Monmouth Tournament takes place this weekend and the field looks really tasty. One GM and four of five IMs already. Kevin has kindly provided me with the following list of the top ten entries, and there's still a few days to go!

The Welsh Ladies Championship is incorporated into the Open, so it looks like being a great event.
As usual Butterfly will report the results, including (if all goes well) a progress report on Saturday night so you can see how your favourites are getting on. Until then, just to put you in the mood, here's a great game by the number eight on the above list, the likeable US master Jimmy Sherwin. We all know about his wins over Fischer, so its pointless printing one of them. Instead, here's he is carving up another American legend, Sam Reshevsky. Reshevsky delays resignation until move 41, although he could really have retired to the bar much earlier. Interesting thought, I have a feeling Reshevsky may not have drunk. Does anyone know? In any case, he probably needed a stiff drink after this thrashing.
